In their kit #5131, Rye Field provided the large tube inside the Tiger's engine compartment where the snorkel portions were kept. This tube had been lacking from their previous "Early" Tiger kits.
But there is a fault in this newly tooled part. The tube itself, in the middle of this image, is slanted to match the rear wall. At the top of the tube, as I point out, Rye Field made the head of the tube exactly horizontal.
The remainder of the tube attaches there in a real Tiger, and when attached it is slanted. That should have been a clue, but it was overlooked.
This is a real Tiger deck panel, with its cover removed to expose the flange where both parts of the snorkel attach. The flange is slanted, of course, so that the entire snorkel forms a straight run.
I am unsure if it's possible to modify Rye Field's part to fix this minor problem.
