Rye Field tell you to leave the glacis plate bare when building their Mid Tiger.
But in reality, some of their decal options require a shovel on the tank's front plate. Fortunately the sprues contain the shovel, a leftover from previous kits. You should install it as this diagram shows, for two of the decal options.
