About this detail of the Tiger

For each MG34 mounted in a German tank, there was a standard box provided, containing parts for it. Since the Tiger had two MG34 in tank mountings (one in the hull and one in the turret), the Tiger carried two of these boxes.

Parts box for hull MG

One of the boxes was stored in the hull, and Rye Field's kit provides it. It's part K4. It correctly represents the strap that held the box in place.

turret

The other box was in the turret, and Rye Field provide part J61 to represent it. But this part has problems. It's the wrong shape, it's too large and its strap should be horizontal. It seems that Rye Field have used the wrong box here; a first-aid box instead of a parts box.
