About this detail of the Tiger
Track link holders were added to the Tiger during the "early" version. At first there were 8 holders, but very soon the number was cut to 7. Each holder consisted of a hinged flap at the edge of the turret roof, and a post on the lower turret side.
This Italeri kit provides two strips of flaps for the turret roof (part 113A) with 4 flaps each. On the real tank, there were 5 holders on the left side, but only 2 on the right. Italeri tells you to cut flaps off the right part and add a flap to the left part.
This is the layout of the holders on all Late turrets, and the later Mid turrets (that don't have a port at the rear left).
On the first Mid turrets, because of the port (part 10C), the holders were closer together.
