About this detail of the Tiger
In the Hachette kit, the rear mudguards attach to the rear wall. At the place where they attach, there are rectangular frames molded into the wall.
This diagram shows the corresponding frames on a real Tiger.
Although these frames did exist on the first Tigers, they were deleted from the tank in May 1943. In the Tigers represented by this kit, there were no frames. The mudguards were welded to the bare wall. The area under the mudguards had no Zimmerit covering.
To make the Hachette Tiger Tank more accurate, you could remove these frames. This photo shows the back of a Late Tiger hull. Although the Zimmerit and the mudguards are gone, you can see the weld marks of the hinges.
