This kit builds a Tiger with a ventilation slot near the front of the engine hatch. At a later date, Tigers were given the "Feifel" filter system which attached to the slot. But in this type of Tiger a protective cover was bolted over the slot.
The kit provides a part to represent the cover. It is rectangular in shape, and it stands on legs, with open sides all around. But that is the result of bad research. That is not how the real intake was shaped.
The intake on these "initial" Tigers was exactly the same item used on "late" Tigers - a box with three enclosed sides. This is an example.
A correct part for your build can be found in "mid" and "late" Tiger kits from all manufacturers. Unfortunately it is not an optional part, so they cannot spare it.
