The kit provides the two mufflers at the rear, each one made of 5 parts.
Part E14 is a non-return valve. In normal operation, it was held open as shown in this diagram. It was closed only for underwater travel.
The kit instructions tell you to put G30 on the right side and G29 on the left. This aligns the valve hinges outwards. But photographs show that the hinges could be aligned in any one of these three ways; directly forwards, to the outside of the tank, or to the inside.
Concerning the "initial" Tigers of S.Pz.Abt.502; we can see the hinges of three distinct tanks, and they are all aligned outwards.
