About this detail of the Tiger

Given the date of its manufacture, Tiger 1331 should have smoke candle launchers on both sides of the turret.

But photographs show that the launchers were missing from tanks 1332 and 1334. We assume that 1331 was identical.

Launcher location

This closeup of 1334 shows a line of weld at the precise location of the support bar. The launcher has been removed after manufacture.

A possible reason is given by Doyle and Jentz [1, see 3.4.2.1.] . Small-arms fire could set off the smoke candles within their launchers, enveloping the tank in smoke and leaving the crew unable to see.

The Dragon kit provides the lines of weld on the turret roof. This is correct, but perhaps it should be made less prominent. You could also add the line of weld on the turret sides.
