Tigers of this version had a pair of tool clips on their front slanting plate. They were intended to hold a large shovel.
But Border's instructions, in step 14, tell you to put a small shaft in that place (part A22). In fact, it is part of the starter handle.
But this is a mistake. The starter shaft was not supposed to go there. There was one Tiger unit, "Das Reich", who did habitually keep their starter shaft there; but this model kit has no decals for a "Das Reich" Tiger. The three Tigers that are supported by the kit's decal sheet, had a shovel there, like they were supposed to.
Later, in Step 25, Border's instructions begin to show the shovel where it's supposed to be. But you are not told to put it there; it simply appears. And you are not given its part number.
The shovel is part A11.
