About this detail of the Tiger

There are two small holes above the driver's visor, on part C7. They are marked (A) in this photo.

They were for an optical device. But this device was dropped from Tiger production in January 1943. The holes were no longer drilled, and in many Tigers already manufactured, they were blocked up.

Tiger "131" has an example of the holes being closed up. Tigers made a month later had no holes to close.

Of the decal sets provided by this kit, Tigers "323", "123", "1311" and "S02" had open optical holes. Tigers "111", "122" and "233" probably had blocked holes. Tiger "101" is the latest decal set in the kit and that tank never had the holes drilled.
