About this detail of the Tiger
The Tiger had a brush for cleaning inside its gun. The handle was very long and it unscrewed into segments. They were stored on the hull roof. At first the handle broke into 5 segments. But in January 1943, it was changed to 6 shorter segments, adding up to the same length.
Border's kit builds a January 1943 Tiger so it would be useful to have both versions of the handle.
But instead of 5 long and 6 short segments, this kit provides 5 short segments. These don't add up to a full handle.
For most of the decal options in the kit, you need to add a 6th segment. The brackets at the left of this photo (part 19) have room for an extra segment.
Tigers with the earlier version had shorter brackets as well as longer segments. The short brackets were on the left side of the hull. This example is Tiger "1311", one of the kit's decal options.
