About this detail of the Tiger
Although it's not visible in the assembled kit, Amusing Hobby have put detail on the base of their turret. The bearing ring is exposed here when the turret is lifted off.
This is the kit's turret base and you can see the details that they provided; bolt heads and screw heads in a trench, and exposed gear teeth.
While the real turret did have screws and bolts in it, their pattern was not the same as Amusing Hobby's kit. There was no trench in the real turret. In fact, if you were to look under a real turret like this, you would see bolt holes, not bolt heads, because you would have removed all the bolts in order to lift the turret. Thus, there was no need for a trench.
Assuming that it was very similar to the first Tiger H turrets, we can say that the real turret didn't have exposed gear teeth either. Amusing Hobby have apparently copied all these details from the Rye Field kits, which are not accurate in this area.
These problems will become visible only if a future release of the kit includes an interior.
