Waterproof seals

To the home page

The Henschel Tiger was equipped to travel underwater. It was given elaborate rubber seals on all of its hatches and openings.

The Porsche Tiger - i.e. the subject of this model kit - was not able to travel submerged. Although we have no images from inside the production vehicle, it's safe to assume that it didn't have waterproof seals. Its turret was not identical to the Henschel turret, and this would be one of the differences.

Sealing mechanisms in Amusing Hobby turret

Amusing Hobby have copied a Henschel turret design into this Tiger(P) kit. They have included all of the waterproofing that Henschel's vehicle had. You can improve the accuracy of your kit by removing all of the items that I point out in this photo of the model.

These devices, molded into the turret ring, are all for waterproofing. They do not belong in a Tiger(P) and should also be removed.
