Many Tigers had bars or beams welded to their nose plate to hold a run of spare tracks. This photo shows Tiger "131" which has a flat beam. It's a reconstruction, not the tank's original beam, but for our purposes it suffices.
I have pointed out two things: the top of the beam is almost exactly level with the bottom of the protrusion of the side walls; and the top of the spare tracks is only about 1cm below the corner of the nose.
The kit supplies an optional beam for spare tracks. In this CAD image, it is attached exactly like 131's beam : almost touching the bottom of the protrusions.
But, the top of the spare track run isn't near to the corner of the nose plate. There's a significantly larger shortfall.
I have not yet determined where the fault lies, but it's not likely that the track links are undersized or misshapen, given that they are well documented and must fit exactly into the wheel runs. I expect that the shape of the kit's nose plates is at fault here.
