Most panzer crew were equipped with headphones and throat microphones. The commander of a Tiger was no exception.
The German microphones were equipped with a switch. In a Command Tiger, it was the on/off for the microphones. But in a normal Tiger, which had a different intercom, that same switch let the commander put himself on either the internal voice channel or the radio.
Whatever its function, the switch was a bulky item clipped to the commander's jacket. Here is an example (arrowed). Its leads did not allow it to be placed much further away than this.
The Wittman figure included in this kit is wearing microphones; they are molded into the figure's neck. But no switch is provided in the kit, neither molded into the torso (shown here) nor as a separate part.
