The Feifel system

The Tiger was provided with air filters for dusty environments. The system's name was "Feifel". It comprised 4 large external cyclone filters mounted on the rear wall of the tank. Many Tiger crews removed the filters when the conditions did not require them, and retained only the large V-shaped duct on the engine hatch.

Problems in the kit

Feifel mounts

These four small blocks (arrowed) are the mounts for attaching Feifel filters. If you model a Tiger with the system removed, these blocks will be highly visible.

The kit's Feifel mounts

But there is a problem with the kit's mounting blocks. They are not symmetrical. I have annotated this photo to show the difference between left and right.

The blocks on the real tank were symmetrical. This suggests that the filters in the kit are misshapen, misplaced, or both.
