About this detail of the Tiger
Academy's "Gruppe Fehrmann Tiger" kit provides decals for several Tigers. The photographic record of them is incomplete, but we can see the following characteristics.
TIGER 111 has : bolts beside the hull MG, smoke launchers cut off the turret leaving tabs on the roof, the original "mirrored" rear grilles, a loader's periscope, turret spare tracks, no driver's episcope, S-mine bases, and a "thick" mantlet. There are spare tracks on the lower front hull. The tracks are the final "cleated" type, but otherwise the Tiger seems to be standard for April 1943. It still had exhaust shields fitted when it was abandoned. No known photograph tells us what kind of wheels it was fitted with.
TIGER F13 has : no smoke launchers, turret spare tracks, S-mine bases, and rubber-tyred wheels. It appears to be an ordinary Early Tiger of June 1943. The turret bin was probably missing when it was in action. Photographs do not show what kind of tracks were fitted to it.
TIGER 411 has : no smoke launchers, turret spare tracks, steel-rimmed wheels, early "flat" tracks, spare tracks fitted to the upper left front hull, and a "thick" mantlet. It appears to be an ordinary Early Tiger of June 1943. There appears to be damage to the turret roof, making it impossible to be sure that a loader's periscope was fitted.
TIGER F01 has : bolts beside the hull MG, smoke launchers cut off the turret leaving tabs on the roof, the "flat" sprocket, a loader's periscope, turret spare tracks and a "thick" mantlet. It appears to be an ordinary Tiger of April 1943 but is fitted with cleated tracks and steel-rimmed wheels. Spare tracks are fitted to the lower hull front and both sides of the upper hull front. The cupola support arm is cut off, allowing the commander's hatch to lie almost flat.
