About this detail of the Tiger
On the upper rear wall of the Tiger, a tool was stored (the Engine Adaptor). Photographs indicate that when the factory workers were applying Zimmerit paste to the rear wall, they stopped below this tool and did not bother to apply the paste underneath it. For example, in this photo, the indicated areas seem to have no Zimmerit at all.
Trumpeter have done something puzzling at this place. They have made a very neat round hole in their Zimmerit sheet. It seems inconceivable that the factory workers would apply the paste like this on a real Tiger.
Looking at the Tiger model kits from other manufacturers, we find the same feature in an older kit. Academy have you glue the adapter tool directly to the wall (which is an error). To enable the gluing, they tell you to leave a round hole in your Zimmerit. This must be the source of Trumpeter's error.
For better accuracy, refer to the photo of a real Tiger. Cut off Trumpeter's Zimmerit sheet just below the adaptor tool.
