The kit's background
This future release from Airfix appears to be the "Tiger-I Mid" from Academy, reboxed and given new decals. Although the sprues of this Airfix release have not been shown yet, my comments on the Academy kit will probably apply here also.
Academy's release was a Tiger with flexible one-piece tracks, no interior, and photo-etch for the engine deck meshes. The decal options were numerous. Zimmerit was not provided but a tool for scribing it was included in the kit. Changes to the Airfix release of the kit are not announced yet, but it will have different decals and instructions.
The model is a Mid Tiger as built in the period October 1943 to January 1944. There were a couple of changes made to the Tiger during this time, and Academy didn't explain the options; it remains to be seen whether the Airfix instructions will more informative. The necessary parts are in the kit.
So far, we know of two decal options in the Airfix release. Tiger "308" of s.Pz.Abt. 502 is exactly the right type of Tiger for the kit parts. The other option is Tiger "333" of s.Pz.Abt. 501, which is not fully documented but may be a slightly earlier version than what the kit builds.
