About this detail of the Tiger
The "Bergepanzer Tiger" was originally a Befehlstiger. It was converted to be a normal Tiger at the factory. Some of the fittings of a Command Tiger remained on the vehicle.
This photo shows most of them. There is a round hole in the hull roof, containing a ceramic insulator for the 30W "star" antenna. Ahead of that is the chimney for the internal generator engine, and a cap to make it waterproof.
On this museum Tiger, we can see the small components more clearly. As well as the chimney and cap on the roof, there are two clasps for a side antenna. The upper one folds out of the way and has a locking handle. The round hole had been plated over here, probably by the museum.
Although the instructions don't mention them, the Rye Field kit contains parts for these items. However their hull roof doesn't have a hole for the round insulator pot.
The rear wall of the tank had 4 welded mounts for the "star" antenna storage tube. The tube was removed, but the mounts remained. This is a similar museum Tiger. Rye Field's rear wall doesn't have these mounts.
