About this detail of the Tiger
This kit provides the four cooling fans. They are arranged in pairs, two fans in each rear corner of the tank, blowing air out through the grilles.
This CAD image from Rye Field shows two of their kit's fans. But there is an important item missing.
The real Tiger had sheet-metal baffle plates fixed on top of the fans. This is a diagram of one. These plates were necessary to prevent backflow of the outgoing air.
Here is a real Tiger with the plate fitted. It covers all of the gaps around the fan housing and prevents the air from circulating back. These plates were present in every Tiger and are necessary for the vehicle to run properly, but they are not provided in this Rye Field kit.
