We don't know the tactical number of this Tiger at the time of its demolition, but it was originally numbered 121 and commanded by Lt. Vermehren until his injury at the battle of Hunt's Gap.
In this still from a newsreel, we see the Tiger's demolished hull. The nearest mudguard is missing its central rib, removed by the crew so that they could attach a box there. This is our strongest clue to the identity of the tank. The gun's recoil shield lies on the ground nearest to us.
