American troops stand behind a Tiger that was apparently knocked out in the intense fighting on Biazzo Ridge on 11 July 1943. A small hole can be seen in the front armour of the tank and it is characteristic of a bazooka impact. This is one of the last 6 Tigers issued to s.Pz.Abt.504 in Sicily, judging from the spare tracks on the turret side; it probably had no identifying number. S-mine launchers, spare tracks and Feifel air filters are still in place. Behind the tank, the high ground of Biazzo Ridge can be glimpsed.
