Tiger 131 is being examined by Allied troops on a hillside in Tunisia. A Churchill tank rumbles past behind it. A trench has been dug nearer to us. This place is very likely to be the spot where the Tiger was abandoned by its crew on 24th April 1943. This area remained in German hands on the 24th; it was shelled and mortared "heavily" on the 25th; and this Tiger was moved uphill on the 26th. We must assume that this photo is from 26th April 1943.
A weed under the front left-hand track is visible in another photo of Tiger 131 and proves that both photos show the same spot. Photo analysis tells us where it is.
