Tiger 131 is being examined by Allied troops on a hillside in Tunisia. A Churchill tank rumbles past behind it. A trench has been dug nearer to us.
Thanks to the research of Mr. Oscroft, we know that this photo was taken on 6 May 1943, the day before the Tiger was removed from this area.
Analysis of the terrain and the horizon in the photo suggest that it is on the east side of Point 174 (Gueriat el Atach). The Tiger has already been moved a couple of hundred meters down from the summit where it was captured.
A weed under the front left-hand track is visible in another photo of Tiger 131 and proves that both photos show the same spot.
