About this detail of the Tiger
The Tiger had a water-cooled engine. Two large radiators were placed on either side of the engine, and water was pumped around a circuit made of 10cm diameter pipes.
This German sketch shows the general arrangement. The radiators had pipe connections at top and bottom rear, and these pipes went directly through the internal wall to the engine compartment. Most of the piping was located behind the engine, including a crossover from the first radiator to the second one. Narrow pressure-relief pipes were also attached. This sketch represents a HL230 engine; the HL210 piping was slightly different.
This wartime photo shows a HL210 engine in a Tiger. The main pipe connections can be seen at either side of the engine's rearmost air filter. A pressure relief pipe connects them, winding its way around the locks of the engine hatch.
All of the indicated items are missing from the Rye Field Model Tiger kit.
