About this detail of the Tiger
Every Tiger had an electrical junction box in the turret. The connections to the hull entered this box via a single thick cable. Within the box, the wires for indivldual features of the turret were broken out and distributed to connectors.
At first, this box was placed on the turret inside wall, near the side hatch. But in October 1943 the insides of the turret were simplified. Most items were taken off the walls.
The junction box was moved to a position near the forward turret leg. It was attached to the crossbeam and leg by welded metal strips.
Rye Field's Mid Tiger instructions don't mention the junction box. However, it is provided in the kit as part J45, a leftover from a previous kit. You can create the attaching strips from plastic sheet and fix J45 to the turret leg.
