About this detail of the Tiger
The original design for the Tiger allowed it to travel underwater. All of the openings in the crew room and the engine room could be sealed up. It wasn't necessary to open the engine room; there were levers and cables that let you seal it up from the crew room.
In the middle of 1943, all of this equipment was deleted. Unfortunately some of it is present in this Rye Field kit which is from a later time. Rye Field have included this detail by mistake.
This is part H20, the left side of the engine room. The panel at [1] and the shaft at [2] should not be there. You should cut them off. The air duct at [3] was present in every Tiger, but it didn't have a protruding tube in the later Tigers. You should cut that off, preserving the bolts, and make a hole instead.
This is a real example of the air duct at position [3]. The square frame with 4 bolts is present, but there is no protruding pipe, just a hole (the pipe contained a waterproof seal).
The right-hand wall (part H17) has the same problems. The panel [1] and the shaft [2] don't belong there. The pipe should be removed from the duct at [3] and a hole should be made.
