Second type of cupola
The second type of cupola used in Tiger 1 had seven periscopes and a recessed hatch lid. It was apparently possible for rainwater to collect in the recess. During the production run, channels to drain off this water were added to the design.

Three channels were cut into the circular body of the cupola. Photographs show that they were not all evenly spaced between the periscopes; they appear to have been put at specific angles, shown in the diagram above.
It is possible that these channels were later moved, to be halfway between the periscopes. I have not found clear evidence of this on any Tiger I. However it did happen on the Tiger II, which used a similar cupola.
