Dragon Late Tiger: loader's hatch lid
Dragon's kit includes three kinds of loader's hatch lid. They all have the handle offset to one side, a feature that is always and only seen with the 40mm turret roof.
One of the lids is the commonly-seen forged version. Another is the welded version, with long hinges. This is a valid option, though it is rare. One photograph [1] shows it on a vehicle used to train Hungarian crews.
The third part is the hatch lid used in the Tiger II. I know of no original documentary or photographic evidence that this hatch was ever used in a Tiger I. Modern books claim that it was, but they may be simply repeating each other's mistake.
Although the instructions show it as an option, I recommend that you do not use this part.
